Decorating 101.........

Hi Everyone,
I am settled in my little cottage and all is quiet, the tree is down , most of the decorations are organized and put away for another year. I have a few seasonal items that will sit out all winter. I love the Christmas season but it always feels good to get back to what I call normal again.

I think what you put on your table says a lot about who you are and I guess when I look around I am a person who loves the look of yesterday, old pictures and antiques are what you will find sitting around my little cottage.

For me it is fun to put a look together and then of course go back and change things till it looks just right. My husband will say are you moving that again and I will say yes, until it is just right I will move it again This picture is a table scape siting on my desk in the dining room, also as you will notice RED is my favorite color to decorate with, they say in the decorating world every room needs a touch of red. I may have gone a little overboard on the color, but it looks so good with my gold walls. Light also means a lot when decorating a home, low light on a cold winter evening sets the mood for relax action. The picture above is one of the items that will stay out all winter. I bought this Victorian stocking at Cracker Bar ell it was on sale for 9.99. I just had to have it. I also found this cute winter skate to hang on the inside of my new red door.......just love it and not ready to part with just yet. This little corner with the small light that is always on is in my guest bathroom. This pretty blab hangs on my little Amelia Rose Tree that is also out the year around.............so the Christmas decorations may be put away but the low light mixed with my favorite things makes me feel like a little bit of the season is still here in my little cottage I guess I can say come visit often because the light is always on.
Would you please sign up on Blog gs that follow me-- on my sidebar if you have not done so yet I think it is time to turn on a few more light and love a few more things..lol Love you guys........Sharon K

Hi Sharon, Happy New Year..!
I am blogging again, and have a new name.
Red is my favourite decorating colour too. I just wish I had the courage to paint some walls that colour!
Your place always looks welcoming and cosy!

I have a habit of leaving the Christmas holiday wrappings and trimmings throughout my living room, because I hate to let go of the events that have taken place, especially when my children leave to go back to the hustle and bustle of their own lives.
This empty nest... is definitely for the birds.
Thanks for sharing your warm and inviting setting. It makes me want to sit and chat over a cup of tea.

Thanks for stopping by my lil' blog.

Sweet wishes,
Sara
