Thanksgiving in Greenville S.C.

We went to Greenville S.C. to spend Thanksgiving with Cancee, Joe and Miss Hannah, we had a good time and had turkey left overs in a salad, sandwich, soup and turkey alaking. Thanksgiving dinner was wonderful and very filling. It seems when ever I have turkey it is like a sleeping pill. Thanksgiving dinner and a nap just go together. The colors here are just beautiful with the reds and golds. It is an amazing picture that God provided to be thankful for. We will head back to Ohio on Monday morning and hope to miss most of the Thanksgiving traffic that will be on the roads on Sunday. I want to wish every one a belated but happy Thanksgiving season and good wishes for the Christmas season that is on its way for all of us to enjoy and get ready to celebrate. As a little girl I loved every thing about Christmas and I am still a little girl at heart because I love Christmas and all the hussel and bussel that goes with it. I do believe in Santa and always try to be very good in the month of December. A Christmas memory that I will always remember and never forget was............I was six years old and in the first grade, I remember my mother helping me get ready to go to the big Christmas party that was held every year by my Fathers union where he worked. While she was helping me get dressed she thought that i felt quite warm and took my temperature to make a long story much shorter ..........I had a high temp and insted of me going to a party I ended up in the Dr.s office with Scarlet Fever. They came to our home and put a quarantine sign on my front door. My sister JoAnn was at a friends house while this was going on and ended up not being able to come home to celebrate Christmas with me. The gift I received from Santa that year that I can remember is a toy telephone that had to be washed well and lost its numbers. Now just how good is a phone with no numbers to a little girl with scarlet fever at Christmas with out her big sister to celebrate with?
Love to all..............Sharon K

Hello dear Sharon:-) Sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and I'm so glad you were able to spend it with some loved ones. Oh dear, what a horrible Christmas that must have been when you had Scarlet Fever...it's no wonder you'll never forget that Christmas!! I also had Scarlet Fever when I was a little girl and mom said I lost almost all my hair from my fever being so high. Nobody could come into my room except my mom...but at least it wasn't during Christmas! lol xox

I am so glad you had such a sweet Thanksgiving!
Wow, that is a holiday memory!
Poor sweet Sharon Kay! Not the sort of holiday that a little girl longs for!
I am like a kid about holidays too.
I love all of the festivities and glitz and glitter!

Hugs,
Sue

Sharon,
Thank you so much for dropping by! I love meeting new friends and we seem to have some things in common. I live in PA so I like finding neighbors to the west (unless of course your Browns fans!) And my sister lives in Columbia, not terribly far from Greenville. Sorry about that Christmas. That's awful! My father's retired now but his company also put on a Christmas party every year for the kids. We always got a nice gift. Thanks for that memory!

Come back again!

Love,
Julie

I'm so glad you found me again and stopped by...and I found you again, too! :)

What a sad Christmas memory...:(
My mom tell me of the time she and her sister had Scarlet Fever as children back in the 30's and they had to put the quarantined sign on the door.

Oh, and the photos below are stunning!!! Some of the most gorgeous scenery photos I've ever seen!

Blessings!

Oh dear me, Sharon Kay! That has to be one of the saddest Christmas memories, ever. How sad for you. And for your sister too. And the whole family.

Hugs to the little girl who had Scarlet Fever for Christmas... :-)
